Another conference is coming to town this weekend, and excuse us for geeking out a bit over this one – we’re marketing people, after all. The Northeast District?of PRSA (Public Relations Society of America) is hosting their annual one-day event at The Radisson on Friday 4/28, and attendees will have plenty of time to explore the Gaffer District while they’re here.
More than 200 conference-goers are expected, which is a presence that will be felt throughout Corning. Since many are coming from as far away as Boston and NYC, they will begin arriving on Thursday evening (April 27). That night, Creagent Marketing is hosting an impromptu gathering for anyone who would like to stop up and say hello! Between 6pm and 8pm on Thursday 4/27, attendees and visitors are welcome in our office at 41 E. Market St. (above Pure Design, next to Tommy Hilfiger). Rumor has it we often have a full fridge and office “bar.”
Also happening that night are collaborative “dine-arounds,” where attendees will have the chance to visit Market Street restaurants together. The full conference begins Friday morning with a packed day of keynotes, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities. It will conclude with a special event at The Rockwell Museum, which blends right into our monthly Urban Arts Crawl. Great timing, PRxNE!
For those who are less familiar, conferences like these are important to Corning and the surrounding region for many reasons, not the least of which is their impact on the local economy through hospitality, tourism, dining, and retail. A secondary advantage is the exposure we receive as conference attendees turn to Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to tell all their friends and family members around the globe about Corning.
A while back, we put together a short list of must-dos for conference attendees. So if you’re?just visiting and you want to take advantage of your time in Corning, here are 5 ways to do just that. And if you’re overwhelmed with the quantity and variety of activities available in our small city, you’re not alone!
We’re looking forward to having?some time to catch up, to show off the Gaffer District, and to learn about what’s happening in the PR world. Welcome to Corning!
