Corning?s most iconic weekend is upon us! We?re here to give you access to the best events happening this weekend in celebration of Corning and the Wineglass Marathon.
Friday: When the fun begins.
Start your weekend off with a Crystal City Beverage Tour in the afternoon which includes stops at Corning?s Oldest Distillery, the first microbrewery in Steuben County, as well our two newest craft breweries. Not a beer drinker? Catch a ride on the Keuka Lake Winery Tour that afternoon as well and enjoy the beautiful views and wine of the Finger Lakes.
While you?re up on Keuka Lake, take part in the Wineglass Marathon Welcome Reception and Dinner at Heron Hill Winery (which you?ll be stopping at during the wine tour). Also not far from Corning is the Wineglass Marathon Pre Party at Cider Creek Hard Cider where they want to celebrate all runners and families. Enjoy a tasting, live music, a cidery tour, and a bon fire!
Rather just stay in Corning on Friday? Us too. The Urban Arts Crawl is returning after the summer break. Come relish in the everyday art and culture of Downtown Corning and stop at local museums and galleries. Hang out with Urban Corning after at Cap’n Morgan’s for some post-crawl drinks.
Saturday: I have two words for you, pasta dinner.
The Radisson is hosting the Wineglass Marathon Pasta Dinner; an all you can eat meal to fill you with carbs before the big day. Closer to Bath? St. Thomas Episcopal Church will be serving the Rotary Spaghetti Dinner for an equally delicious meal.
Sunday: The big day.
If you?re not running on Sunday morning, get out and support the thousands of runners taking part in Corning?s favorite event.
Whether you?re waiting for someone running the marathon or the half, you?re going to have some time to kill. And the best way to kill some time is with mimosas and brunch, duh! The Cellar will be open for a special occasion brunch on Sunday. This only happens a few times a year, so you better get a reservation soon!
If you ARE running, celebrate after the race with a drink of your own. And don?t worry, there’s plenty of options.
Head over to the Rockwell Museum for their Post-Race Tasting, and enjoy local wine and craft beverages. The Radisson will also be having a Wine Down Party with marathon inspired food and drink specials. The best part is, these both start right around noon.
Make sure to check out all other local events happening in the area in celebration of the Wineglass Marathon weekend.?Enjoy!

I heard manufacturing the medals is being outsourced to another state, it used to be a small artisan studio in Corning… We live in a city famous for it’s glass and are constantly told to “buy local” what’s up with that?
