This weekend is packed full of booze, music and great food. Although, isn’t that almost every weekend?
Friday: Get Artsy
End your work week with a little art. Head over to your favorite glass museum (Corning Museum of Glass, in case you didn’t know) and check out their guest artist, Davide Salvadore. Yes, his name is David with an “e” on the end…how posh! One could say glass making is in his genes, as he comes from a long line of Venetian glassmakers. But he goes beyond tradition to incorporate diverse imagery such as African tribal influences and the smokestacks of glasshouses.
Check out all the information here.
All that walking around the museum and learning about glass has probably exhausted you. Take a stroll down to Iron Flamingo for a tasty beverage. You can even walk there from the museum in less than 15 minutes. And what goes perfectly with that beer? Well, a delicious grilled cheese and some mac ‘n cheese. Lucky for you, Over the Moon Grilled Cheeserie?food truck will being stopping by Iron Flamingo from 5 to 8pm.
Saturday: Do Some Discovering
Unfortunately, the weather isn’t looking too hot for Saturday. Fortunately, there is a fantastic inside activity happening right in downtown Corning. The Young Entrepreneur’s Academy, better known as YEA!, is hosting their annual trade show at the Information Center on Market St. At this event, the student CEO’s will be presenting their ideas for different businesses to the public. Stop by anytime from 10am to 1pm.
Find all the information here.
In the evening, spend some time at Brick House Brewery for some awesome sips, delicious munchies, and some kickass music (though we are a?little bias). Come see Leah Brown and the Side Hustle at 8:30pm with our very own Sean Lukasik rocking out on the keyboard.
Sunday: Make it your own
So Sunday seems to be pretty quiet around these parts and let’s be real. Did you really want to change out of your pajamas today anyways? Take today to get those chores done that you have been pushing off, veg on the couch with some Aniello’s slices, or make your own fun around Corning. Although Sundays seem to be the slowest days on Market St., they can really be the best. Without all the hustle and bustle, you can take in all the cool architecture, serenity and quaintness Corning has to offer.
Enjoy the weekend!
