If you live in Corning, you’re almost undoubtedly familiar with CMoG’s 2300°. The long nights of lively music and live glass blowing are arguable some of the hottest parties in the Crystal City – and for good reason.
But, as more of you might be unaware, the Corning Museum of Glass isn’t the only museum known to throw down a good hoedown. For the past two years, each October and November, the Rockwell Museum has hosted Rockwell Roadhouse: a high-energy live music series featuring regional Americana, folk, and rock bands. Complete with cash bar and a variety of tasty hors d’oeuvres, the energetic happy hour event is the perfect way to kickoff a night in Downtown Corning.
The series returns this Friday, October 20th, with knee-slapping jams courtesy of Aaron Lip & The Slack Tones. While wielding a sweet-toned electric guitar, groove hungry upright bass, rock solid drums and a screaming fiddle, The Slack Tones will help you find yourself in a 1950’s rockabilly club. Playing hits from their newest record, Aaron Lipp & The Slack Tones are kicking the Roadhouse season off right. If you enjoy mind-bending guitar riffs over infectious old school rockabilly rhythms with original songwriting about today’s times and troubles, mixed with a little fine art about the American experience, you definitely won’t be disappointed.
Get a taste of what Aaron Lip & The Slack Tones will be delivering, below, while getting your tickets for the evening, HERE. See you then, friends.
Reservations are required by 5pm, Thursday, October 19th. Tickets cost $10 for Rockwell members, or $15 for not-yet-members. Find tickets at RockwellMuseum.org/events.
