Happy Tuesday! Today we are introducing Card Carrying Books & Gifts, a new bookstore on Market Street! The owners, Sarah Blagg and Randi Hewit, stand for all things equality, and we will be featuring a monthly blog post from the store.
On Wednesday, August 30th, the Card Carrying team was delighted to introduce Corning?s finest feminists to the Card Carrying Club – a monthly subscription service intended to create a nationwide feminist book club ? as well as the shop itself! 
After a very happy hour at Hand + Foot, visitors trickled down to 15 East Market for a sneak peek at the gifts and books for sale inside.
The Card Carrying Club can be subscribed to online at www.cardcarryingshop.com. For $34.50 a month (this includes shipping), Club members will get a feminist-themed book (a nice mix of fiction and non), a surprise gift, a letter from Card Carrying creators Randi and Sarah, and some activism materials. A special, one-time-only, holiday-themed box is being planned for this winter, and a teen version is also in the works.
Doors open TODAY – Tuesday the 5th of September – and the Grand Opening is scheduled for Friday, September 15th from 5 ? 8pm. The ribbon cutting will be at 5p, there will be live music in-store from 6 ? 7p, and at 7p both a young comedian and local poet will take turns on ?stage? in the shop.
