What better way to celebrate the first weekend of the new year than with music? Whether you’re hoping to start the year with a date night, plan to hit the town with friends or just want to grab a beer and listen to a local band, Corning’s got you covered. Here’s a quick breakdown of your options:

Nate Miner at T.O.P, January 8

We’ve listened to Nate Miner a few times, and man, the guy is talented. He’ll be playing at T.O.P. this Friday, starting at 8:30. His solo stuff has a pretty relaxed singer-songwriter feel to it, and is perfect if you just want to enjoy a few drinks and relax. Nate’s?a member of the wildly popular rock group, Underwater Tiger. They’re good, check them out below.

Rust at Lando’s Lounge, January 9

Rust brings their classic rock style to the stage at Lando’s, this Saturday from 9-1am. As individuals, the members of Rust have been involved in the local music scene for over forty years. Couple that experience with sounds of KISS and Led Zeppelin, and you’re in for quite the night.

DJ Madness at VOLO, January 8 & 9

Rock music not your thing? No problem. VOLO will be switching things up a bit this weekend with DJ Madness on Friday and Saturday. Two local DJ’s provide the entertainment, the classic movies will be on the wall and the drinks will be cold. What more do you need, really?

The rest of the weekend is rounded out by community theatre and programs at both the Corning Museum of Glass and the Rockwell Museum. Find all of those details and more at our new calendar, HERE.
